President Pakistan Hockey Federation, Brigadier (retired) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar and the federation’s Secretary General Shahbaz Ahmad have congratulated Imran Khan on assuming the charge of Prime Minister.
In his message, the president PHF remarked that the most heartening thing is that Imran Khan is himself a legendary sportsman and a World Cup winning captain. He understands sports.
Our sports have been ignored for a long time. I am hopeful that in addition to other spheres, he will also give due attention to sports.
Hockey, our national game, also looks towards him. Pakistan hockey has been in crisis for a long time with the national team not producing the desired results. PHF is already striving hard for the revival of the game and will endeavor further in full sincerity under Prime Minister’s patronage to regain the glories of the past.
I congratulate him from the depth of my heart and also on the behalf of the entire federation.
I pray may Allah Almighty grants Imran Khan success in achieving all his goals and he proves beneficial to our country.
Secreatry General PHF, Shahbaz Ahmad, himself a World Cup winning captain, also congratulated the new Prime Minister and expressed hope that with Imran Khan as the PM, not only cricket and hockey but all the other sports would also flourish.
He also called upon people who had been waiting for the ‘right time’ to come forward, “I request those who had been lamenting that the system is not suitable for them that they now have the opportunity to contribute and should support the new Prime Minister whole heatedly towards nation building. My best wishes are with Imran Khan.”
