First Day of Trials for World Cup Selection

The two day trials for the selection of Pakistan hockey team for the World Cup in Bhubaneswar, India starting from November 28, commenced at the National Hockey Stadium, Lahore. 25 camp players were tested in four sessions of 20 minutes each under the floodlights.
The trials were watched by the full national selection committee comprising of Islahuddin Siddique (chief selector), Ayaz Mahmood, Qasim Khan and Mussaddiq Hussain. PHF President Brig (rtd) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar and Secretary General Shahbaz Ahmad were also present.
The trials will conclude on Wednesday and the final team for the World Cup will be announced.
